DOL Announces Updates to Labor Posters

What’s New?

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) requires employers to display official posters that inform employees of their rights and responsibilities under various federal laws.  Recently, the DOL has announced updates to certain labor posters are coming over the next few months.   These updated posters must be posted in an area readily available to employees.

What’s Changed?

The posters updated include:

Fair Labor Standards Act Poster:

Reflects recent legal changes made under the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers (PUMP) Act.

Family Medical Leave Act Poster:

Minor changes regarding FMLA, and how an employee may file a complaint.

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Know Your Rights Poster:

Updates coming to address provisions of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which goes into effect on June 27, 2023.

What You Should Know:

The DOL provides free electronic copies of the required posters on its website. Employers can also use the elaws Poster Advisor to determine which posters they are required to display at their place(s) of business. Posting requirements vary by statute, so not all employers are subject to the same poster obligations.

Time & Pay partners with PosterElite to help keep their clients compliant with DOL poster requirements.  PosterElite will provide subscribers with any updated versions of existing posters, and any new posters that may be required by the DOL.
